Out of the box, they fit well. I hike long days with aggressive profiles and these boots never let me down. I have tried many boots and only these give me the necessary support and traction with no break-in period.

bought these boot in May 2009, great in the field dry and comfortable through pretty tough terrain. September came with a day of wet weather and saw first signs of wear, my feet were wet even with application of some mink oil. Soles are toast, but i do hike a lot, almost every day in the summer. I would recommend these for the casual hiker, but if you are an off the trail hiker i would go with something more durable. My next pair will be Meindl's from germany, saw these boots in the field, impressive.

Love the boots, but wore them out quickly

I owned these boots since July of 2007. Hands down the most comfortable, most waterproof, lightest feeling heavy-duty boot I've worn. My complaints are: You can't replace the sole; I have worn them out in less than 2 years, even with loving maintenance. I would guess I've hiked between 2-300 miles in mostly dry conditions; although both snow and rain hikes were done.

I am a Park Ranger and work in the northeast. This is my second pair of Asolo Power Matic 200 GVs. I wore my 1st pair for two years in every imaginable weather condition. I would polish them (liquid Kiwi) every so often and bring them back to a shine. My feet never got wet, hurt, or anything else for that matter.
