Ariat Workhog Pull-On
Not a bad boot, if you can get a good fit

I had been wanting a pair of these boots for a long time, but no local store carries anything over a 13, and I usually need a 14. I've tried the 13EE in this boot in a store, and it felt just a bit cramped at the toes. At the time, I didn't really notice the width as being too narrow. I recently bought a pair of 14EE Twisted X boots, and really like them. I read somewhere that Ariat and Twisted X fit basically the same, so I found these 14EE Ariats here at Shoebuy.com and bought them. I was super excited as I waited for delivery, but the air was let out of my balloon as soon as I slipped one on. Too big. They seem to be a narrow boot, and about a half-size bigger than marked. The 14EE Twisted X fits great, but to get the same fit in the Ariat, I'd need something like a 13.5EEEE, which is kind of insane to me. Oh well. Maybe by the time I wear these out, Twisted X will have a work-ish boot similar to the Ariat Workhog. I really like this boot, except for the fit.

I purchased these boots to replace another pair exactly like them that I have had for nearly six years. I loved them, but the soles had finally worn down too far. The uppers were still in great shape though. I intended to have them resoled, but found out that would cost almost as much as replacing them. These are the first boots that I have been able to keep for more than six months without destroying. I walk with a slight twist in my step which quickly wears down most boot soles.I tried many brands before happening on these and within six months I had worn the soles down to expose the inner core or cutting the stitching that held them on. These soles are solid without stitching all the way through, so they survived. As far as comfort, they are kind of snug until they are broken in (several weeks)and seem heavy compared to other boots I have worn. I attribute this to the solid rubber soles, which to me is fine. People who are used to other brands of boots may find them to be heavy. As far as being well built, these are hands-down the toughest pull on boots I have ever seen. I am hard on them and they lasted me six years, and I fully expect the new pair to last six as well. Overall, extremely tough and high quality boots and highly recommended for those who are rough on shoes. I would not recommend them for someone who has never really worn boots.
