ANSI, or The American National Standard Institute, is a private, non-profit organization that coordinates and administrates the American standardization system. ANSI certifies organizations that create and develop the procedures and standards that govern testing and safety for a wide range of technical work. In the case of footwear for electrical workers, these standards ensure that the characteristics and performance of footwear products are in compliance with the National Electrical Safety Code or ANSI/IEEE.
