This shoe is exactly what I was looking for, but when I put some polish on it, there were certain spots that took the polish differently than others, leaving blemishes on the shoe. I even used official Allen Edmonds polish. I have had the same problem with other Allen Edmonds shoes, so now I know that it is not just me.

True to size - leather is soft and the shoe is light in weight (size 13), not like imported loafers that weigh heavy.

The Montecito is a marvelous and comfortable shoe with a fit and finish that exudes American quality and craftsmanship. I have several pairs of Allen-Edmond shoes and really enjoy the fact that they make narrow widths in the styles that I desire. The shoes are very comfortable and run true to size in length and width. The Montecito was especially desired as it reminded me of the penny loafer of my childhood with more comfort and quality. The only shortcoming of the shoe is that the side of the shoe is a little large and leaves a visible space due to my very narrow foot and ankle. I can live with this shortcoming as it does not impact the wearing of the shoe. The Montecito is a keeper.
