I have never owned Allen-Edmonds shoes. I bought the Commuter because they were relatively inexpensive and would give me some idea of what the "cheap" end of the line felt like. The Allen-Edmonds Commuter felt good, wore well, and could be worn with a sport coat and khakis as well as with jeans and a sports shirt. I am pleased with the purchase and will now try some more expensive Allen-Edmonds models. It's still early in my experience with this shoe, but the quality of the product is obvious and I don't think my views will change much.
Wears this shoe: Fridays at the office and for informal events.

I'm 57 and per my doctors I have collapsed knees. Meanwhile the specialist told me to wear comfortable shoes and highly recommended me to the "Casual Comfort" collection of Allen-Edmonds. He was right; I now have seven pair, being this "Commuter" pair the latest acquisition. In general it is almost like having an orthopedic shoe with style. I got rid of about 12 pair of leather sole shoes and now the pain is practically gone away. I will eventually need to do the knee thing but I think with the Allen-Edmonds shoes, hopefully it will be many years away. Shoebuy.com has the best service and costs (especially with the no charge for delivery). They can't be beat. They got my business!

LOVE the Commuter, ready to wear right out of the box. Soft, supple and stable, this is what a shoe is supposed to feel like! A great buy at any price, but even better at below 150.00. Get one, you will not be dissapointed, I bought two, one in black and one in brown.
