AirPacks was started by concerned parents and friends. They were seeing too many people with bad posture, carrying too heavy loads, hearing complaints about backaches from parents and reading the adverse effects packs were having on people's backs. They knew there was a better way. They knew we could develop a better pack. And our interest and determination grew when we learned about the long term, lifetime effects of carrying too heavy loads. We felt the obligation to design an ergonomic system that allowed for children and adults to carry loads correctly and more comfortably. AirPacks, Inc. was established in October, 1997. We first met with leading members of the orthopedic community to help us design and develop our packs. Once we developed our prototype, their AirPacks system was successfully tested by a nationally recognized neuromuscular research lab. Using the concept of innovative 'air technology,' a unique strap system, and triangular bag shape, we developed the AirPacks system, the only bag which 'gives.'
