I have to say I'm very impressed with the quality of these shoes. the suede is blissfully soft, and the elastic top band around the foot is very comfortable. I initially ordered them in two sizes to see which fit best, and have had to order a third pair to compare. These are not inexpensive shoes, even with the current temporary holiday discount, and I need to be sure which is the best. Because of a knee problem that I'm awaiting surgery to fix, my gait is off and I've developed foot problems as well. My podiatrist recommended Aetrex insoles and these shoes also have adjustable insoles contained within (you can remove bits of it to customize them). I feel confident that one of the three pairs will work out. The shoes will be perfect with both pants and skirts, and though supportive and cushioned, they don't look like "shoes for people with foot problems"! Oh, the strap over the instep is very adjustable. It secures with Velcro, but unlike some I've tried that only offer a small length of Velcro and if you put in an insole or have a high instep sometimes such a strap won't secure, but there won't be an issue with these shoes. They remind me of similar Cole-Haan shoes I bought last year and have nearly worn out. I'm very optimistic that one pair will be perfect.
Wears this shoe: I could wear it for anything but the most dressy of events.
