The shaft of these boots is wide enough to tuck in pants and they have elastic in the shaft so they can stretch. The down side to this is that if you have average-sized calves and wear leggings or tights, then they are a little lose. I am very happy with these boots in general as it is difficult for me to find something comfortable enough to walk around all day in the city. they label says they are waterproof, but I have not tested them out yet in wet conditions--but if they really are, it makes this pair of boots all the more perfect. My feet are a little on the wide side, and I ordered the wide which really made a perfect fit for me.

I did not realize when I ordered this boot that it came in wide but now xtra wide. I had to send it back but i Still miss it 6 weeks later. it was just absolutely the best looking boot I think I have ever seen. The stretch material made it feel fantastic on your legs and no slumping down as whenleather breaks in. Due to my wide forefoot the party ended there, right after the ankle where the vise grip started on my forefoot and toes. I hope and wish Aetrex would make all their boots in xwide because they are doing a fantastic job. I am just bummed that I could not have a pair. But if you have a normal sized foot, you should really give these a try. You can't go wrong.

I have a very high arch and my feet hurt 24/7. My podiatrist is extremely picky about any shoes/boots that I wear. These boots are wonderful! The best and most comfortable that I have ever worn.

These boots are comfortable and very warm. Got the impression from the other reviews that it would be best to order size bigger. I ordered the 8.5 and then ordered the size 8. This boot fits true to shoe size!
