It features a flexible rubber outsole.
It has an extra-cushioned insole for added comfort.
Shaft heights increase by about 1/8" starting with 6 6/8" for a size 5 and increasing to 7 1/2" for a size 8.5 and then increasing to 8 1/8" for a size 12.

I should have listened to the other comments that suggested ordering a half size up, however it is leather and will stretch out. The shoe is comfortable and stylish so I would recommend for work.
