I have not used this backpack, but found a use for it on my last trip. I was in the airport for 5 hours with a carry-on roller bag. I lugged that one roller bag around for all that time, then barely hoisted it to the overhead when boarding the plane. I could have used that smaller backpack instead for my books, etc., when waiting around. I have High Sierra luggage because it is more rugged for people like me, who is not the most careful person and tends to do hiking trips, etc. The matching duffel packs an AMAZING amount, especially bulky hiking boots. And I like the bright colors--easy to pick out on the luggage carousel. The new backpack will be the icing on the cake after boarding and during unexpected delays!

I think the padding over the shoulder area could be a little thicker and maybe an inch larger to accommodate the said 17" laptop. Overall, it is well made, sturdy, good zippers and comfortable.

Daughter loves the pattern and seem very well constructed with multiple pockets - even a laptop area. We checked multiple websites and shoebuy was the only one to still have it in stock.

I haven't had time to go much back to school shopping for my daughter so as school came creeping up I was a little worried if I could find one she would like knowing that my daughter is very picky. I took my bet with the High Sierra's and amazingly she loved them! The straps have some sort of foam cushion making it feel great on the shoulders. The backpack can be worn for hours with minimal back pains and the designs and colorways are just beautiful. Great for children going back to school.
