| | | Outdoor refers to apparel, accessories, or footwear suitable for use in recreational or athletic activities in open air, outdoor environments. Since outdoor activities such as trail running, climbing, or hiking are often performed on uneven, rough terrain or slippery surfaces, outdoor shoes tend to offer better performance through an array of specific features designed to provide extra support, stability, and traction. Other types of outdoor activities such as camping, fishing, canoeing, backpacking, or kayaking may also require specific types of apparel and accessories. |

Lowa Renegade III GTX Mid
Great boot, little small.

This is a great boot. Solid and supportive, but comfortable from the first hike. I wore out a pair of Dunham 11EE boots which are made to New Balance lasts and bought 11 wide, but my toe hit and I had to change up to the 11.5. The insole isn't very supportive so I added some Superfeet Green F (11.5-13) which I trimmed and my feet are extremely happy.

Blundstone 550
Hydrolysis

Reviewer: Mira from New Zealand
I owned a pair for 8 years and they were great, I bought another pair and the soles 'melted' Blundstone told me it was due to Hydolysis but did not replace them. I will never buy them again. I have owned flip flops that have lasted longer.
Wears this shoe: Walking, but only a couple of times before they melted underfoot.

Vasque Wasatch GTX
Great for hiking

I bought these boots because I enjoy hiking and need something durable that will last considering how rough I am with boots. I did some research on these before I bought them as well. These are great boots and there is no doubt they will keep your feet warm in the cold weather. They are also very comfortable.

Clarks Wave.Shelter
overall a good boot, but...

Okay, I am a difficult fit and picky about support but I did keep this boot. I wanted a waterproof boot that was stylish enough to be worn throughout daily activities but rugged enough to withstand hiking, mud season , and snow. The Water proof feature is excellent. The fit is much more comfortable compared to Toe Warmers shield boot. However, I would have preferred the comfort of a Blondo boot if the shaft was a zip up instead of a toggle. The boot could stand to offer greater insulation for warmth in the NH winters. The shaft lining is a little thin such that the zipper side of the boot is a little uncomfortable. Boot is not as comfortable as a running shoe for hiking as my arch was a little achy after a 2 hour hike. It was difficult to find a boot that met my needs. Ugg Brooks was my top choice but was a little too big on one foot especially for how much they cost. This boot cost less than the UGG boot but seems should have cost $35 less. Having said all of this, I am happy with the boot and feel that it will hold up well to last at least 2 years
Wears this shoe: Daily to go out in yard and out to run errands. Also to informal social outings
